A growing lotus

Mud Lotus is a community of mindfulness that Sara Provenzale and I began about a year and a half ago. Our first project was the creation of a “sangha”–a  group of people who gather regularly in a Buddhist style. As we practice it, a sangha should be a welcome and heart-opening space for meditation and self-development where there is no charge for participation. More recently, we’ve begun visiting a local prison to support the Buddhist community there. As our sangha is now well established, and we are each looking for ways to make a living doing the work we love, we are now talking about expanding what we offer to include a set of services and classes, for communities, adults, and teens. The Mud Lotus Sangha will always open to all on a donation basis. The other offerings under the larger Mud Lotus Project will be on a sliding scale with a requested price.
